What will be covered?

This one-day workshop will address the necessity for this workshop, particularly in the South African context. The interactive small group discussions will explore possible barriers. Practical case scenarios will help navigate through the law and related responsibility of Psychologists.

Practice as a health care professional is based on a relationship of mutual trust between patients and health care practitioners. The term “profession” means “a dedication, promise or commitment publicly made”. Health care practitioners are required to make a life-long commitment to sound professional and ethical practices and an overriding dedication to the interests of one’s fellow human beings and society. To this end, psychologists work within a framework of principles that guide and inform their ethical and professional conduct.
