A celebration of a unique project that changes young people’s lives was marked at the culmination of the Winter School!
From B-Boys to being Men
Tanswell Jansen’s From B-Boys to being Men, an inspiring documentary on young lives transformed through break dancing, was screened.
Tanswell Jansen started off as a B-Boy in the 80’s at the age of five, and often accompanied his older brother Emile, 2014 SA Hip Hop Award nominee, to local break-dance competitions and performances. His love of hip hop culture saw him join Heal the Hood Project after a career in financial management.
He has also studied Graphic Design and interned as a film student with internationally acclaimed filmmaker Paul Blomgren in Sweden.
On the 8th of July, Tanswell spoke about and answered questions on the making of this unique production.
