ABOUT STUDENT
My name is Wendy. I am a student at Cornerstone Institute studying in the psychology department. I grew up in Gugulethu and attended secondary education at Trafalgar High School. I am studying psychology because I am passionate about helping people. I’ve always been a great listener, and my courses in psychology have taught me a lot more about human behaviour. Expanding my perspective helps me be better support for people; my greatest motive is to encourage people to realize and actualize their own dreams. I particularly love working with children, and a key focus of my studies will be in learning about childhood development. On top of learning about the theories and experiments in psychology and making me a better listener, a degree in psychology actually qualifies me to be a part of the helping industry. I ultimately want to help people change their lives. My goal is to be a knowledgeable and comfortable support base for people –, especially children – who are going through difficult times. Everybody struggles with problems sometimes, and I want to be a part of the solution.
