COURSE DESCRIPTION

Teachers are leaders. Understanding leadership and leadership styles is necessary for teachers and principals to be successful, and to work with colleagues and students. In this course, students will examine eight different leadership styles – transformational, servant, democratic, situational, autocratic, transactional, laissez-faire and resonant. They will learn about the theories related to each, studying well-known leaders who use the different styles and reflect on their own leadership style.
