Amy Cupido, a freelance video editor for two production companies, graduated in March 2023 and emphasized the practical preparation provided by Cornerstone.

She stated, “I interned for a video editor before and throughout my studies, which really gave me the knowledge for this industry.” Amy also appreciated the perseverance and mental fortitude she developed during her university experience, stating, “The aspects of my university experience that have prepared me for this job is the ability to persevere when deadlines are approaching, and I have to break through the mental block to continue.” She enthusiastically recommended studying at Cornerstone, affirming its effectiveness in preparing students for their careers.

Ammaarah Jacobs, currently employed at a magazine company, graduated in March 2023 and valued the programme’s syllabus and practical opportunities.

She mentioned, “The content of the syllabus is probably what prepared me best, especially having done fieldwork in my final year. It was a great opportunity to gain experience and network.” Ammaarah also advised fellow students to seek internships early and find their niche within the industry. Reflecting on her experience at Cornerstone, she said, “Cornerstone was definitely a pleasant experience. For an introvert like me, the scale of the classes was ideal, and I felt like I got more attention from lecturers than had I been at a bigger university. Personally, I feel I chose the perfect degree to study, and therefore, was very passionate about learning, and the lecturers were just as passionate about teaching, so the synergy was beautiful.”
