ABOUT STUDENT

My name is Jessica Munnik. I am 21 years old and currently doing my third year in a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Psychology. I grew up in Grassy Park and I have lived there all my life. Between the ages of 10 and 18, while my parents were involved in ministry, I had the privilege of experiencing other people’s cultures and lifestyles.

My father passed on in 2015 after suffering from renal failure. He was in ministry full time and established a church in the Hillview community in Lavender Hill.

I have two sisters and both of them are currently pursuing tertiary education.

My passion grew and flourished as I found myself attached to the idea of making a difference in the lives of people struggling in poverty. My work with the church and communities moulded me. My mother works as a school governing teacher at a Special Needs school in the autism division. She is currently doing her final year for a Bachelor of Education degree.
