ABOUT STUDENT

My name is Jacqcui. I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with an additional track in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I chose Psychology because I have a passion for discovering the way people’s minds work, and thinking about all the different things that go into determining people’s behaviour.  I’m intrigued by counselling as a subject area, where I believe I could use my natural empathetic, listening, and helping skills apply perfectly. I chose TESOL as a secondary pursuit because of the many possibilities that it can afford me in the realm of teaching. Faith is an important part of my life, and I’ve always considered becoming a teacher in some sort of faith-based capacity.

This degree would benefit me in a number of different ways. It will equip me with the skills necessary to effectively understand others and the world around me, as well as the skills necessary to effect change in this world. Moreover, I believe it will make me a more compassionate helper, teacher, and leader.

I hope to use the skills I acquire here to bring about positive and meaningful change in the world. I would like to help others to flourish and find meaning in a world that can be difficult. Ultimately, I would like to use what I have learnt in my studies to inspire faith, hope, and love in a world that so desperately needs it.
