TICKETS COLLECTION: Tickets must be collected at Cornerstone Campus https://cornerstone.ac.za/ alternatively on the day of graduation. Collecting tickets on the day of graduation need to be before 9:00 am.
PARKING: Parking spaces at the venue are plenty for students and visitors.
FINANCE: Students must have successfully fulfilled all qualifying conditions, including
payment of outstanding fees, in order to attend the graduation ceremony. If the prerequisites are not satisfied, the student will be unable to attend the graduation or obtain their documents.
The deadline to pay all outstanding fees is 28 February 2023.
DRESS CODE: Smart. Modest. No jeans or takkies. No sandals for males.
GRADUATION ATTIRE TIME: Attire may be collected from 8:30

Gradaunds who participate the contact Graduation Ceremony, must wear graduation apparel from House of Graduates. Payments of graduation attire are paid directly to House of Graduates and not Cornerstone. Please find the email address: irline@houseofgraduates.co.za

The photographers (Nickay Productions) have a new online booking system and will contact each student directly to register on their platform. Bookings and payments are made directly to Nickay Productions. Please find the email address: info@nickay.co.za

Graduation Ceremonial Details
Please read the following instructions and important steps carefully.
- Please don’t forget to bring along your Proof of Payment
- Make your way to the graduation stations to collect your attire
Step 1
Place your hood over the left wrist with “V” facing top of arm
Step 2
Clasp loose end of hood between thumb and index finger
4. Do not forget your announcement card on your seat. You need to take your card with you in order for your name to be read. Without this your name will not be read.
5. When the proceedings start to announce the awarding of degrees, follow the official directions and make your way to the stage.
6. You will hand your card to the Dean who will read your name.
Higher Certificate and Postgraduate Certificate Procedure
Step 3: Once your name is read by the Dean.
Step 4: Walk directly to the Registrar
a) Hand over your hood to the Registrar
b) Turn around and allow the Registrar to hood you.
Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Arts Honours Procedure
Step 3: After your name has been read, walk to the Presiding Officer, bow and allow the Presiding Officer to cap you.
Step 4: Proceed then to the Registrar where you will:
a) hand over your hood
b) Turn around and allow the Registrar to hood you
Step 5
Allow 3 seconds for your photo to be taken
Certification will be at the bottom of the stage.

2022 December Mega Graduation
The following remarkable men and women have received high academic achievements in the form of a Undergraduate or Postgraduate Degree.
Mega Graduation at City Hall - 10 December 2022
We have no doubt that this special occasion is not only for graduating students but for Cornerstone as a whole. This was the first opportunity post-COVID-19 where Cornerstone had a contact Graduation. Cornerstone, therefore, opened the opportunity for graduates of 2020 and 2021 to partake in the Mega Graduation Ceremony of 2022. Faculty and Staff are supported students with the last leg of the Academic Programme. Encouragement went to all students to make this a special and memorable one, on which you can look back with fondness and good memories.
Graduation Guest Speaker - Professor Jonathan Jansen
Jonathan Jansen is Distinguished Professor of Education at Stellenbosch University and President of the Academy of Science of South Africa.
His research is concerned with the politics of knowledge in schools and universities. His 2022 books include The decolonization of knowledge (Cambridge University Press, with Cyril Walters) and Corrupted: a study of chronic dysfunction in South African universities (Wits University Press).

Cornerstone Awards
Teaching Awards
The Teaching Award recognises excellence in teaching and learning (lecturing) to realise the Cornerstone mission and values. The award assesses nominations in terms of teaching and learning outcomes that realises graduate attributes for human dignity and social justice; transform lives with deep care, and use current and scholarly sound methods. Awarded annually by way of nomination, all fulltime and adjunct lecturers teaching in contact (campus) and/or distance (online) modes are eligible.
Academic Awards
This award is presented to the best academically achieving graduate during her/his studies at Cornerstone. To be eligible for this award, a student must have completed the qualification within the specified time or one year more than the minimum amount of time required for the programme. The award is presented separately to the highest achieving students in the higher certificate, postgrad certificate, undergraduate and postgraduate categories.
AGAINST ALL ODDS AWARDS
The award recognises a graduating student who overcame unusual and extenuating circumstances. The student 'Against all Odds' was determined to reach her/his goals and despite obstacles remained a Cornerstone student, continued to pass, and successfully completed their programme of study. The criteria for the award are courage and determination; integrity; and good standing in the Cornerstone Community.
PRESIDENT'S AWARDS
Faculty, staff, and students together nominate and decide on the student who receives the President's Award, namely a student who best represents Cornerstone's core values. While the candidate may not be the top academic performer, s/he must possess all the attributes we celebrate as a community. Therefore, the award is made to a final-year student who has shown consistency of character; was actively involved in the broader community; supported fellow students; demonstrated academic excellence; and is spiritually, socially, and academically well-rounded.
Laureate Awards
Cornerstone Institute recognizes Laureates for outstanding contributions to science and the advancement of knowledge in service of the public good, that is, for scholarship in service of social justice and change.
