Cornerstone Institute is honoured to have been appointed co-host of the Communities of Resilience Conference together with the Dept of Social Development, Rutgers University-Newark, and Community Chest. This will take place on 26 July. The goal of the Communities of Resilience conference is to highlight community development research. This one-day conference will provide an opportunity for researchers and practitioners in various fields of social and community development to explore challenges related to the intersection of resilience and social interconnectedness.
Linked to the notion of resilience has been a notion of social interconnectedness—particularly as communities explore questions of how they might deal with long term or short term adversity.
Contributors from academia, nongovernmental sector as well as the public and private sector are all encouraged to participate in this one-day forum. Please note that tickets are not guaranteed and are subject to approval by the facilitator. Click here for more info. Alternatively contact Yumna Martin, Community Chest, on yumna@comchest.org.za.
